FreeMind

I’ve been occasionally on the lookout for concept mapping software for things like planning articles and books and grand theories of everything. Freemind seems to be not bad. It’s free, it’s easy to use, it hasn’t crashed yet, you can export the maps in various formats, it’s unicode compliant, you can insert notes, link items to a calendar (good for planning dissertation chapters, might be), etc etc.

  1. Freemind is ok, but this one is way better: everything good about FreeMind, but (a) online and (b) better

Ah, it is free as well…

  2. Online isn’t necessarily always better.
