This is very cool. Mietta Lennes at the University of Helsinki has a bunch of praat scripts on her site, and one identifies pauses in sound files. It’s ideal for cutting up word lists automatically for transcription. In combination with another script for chopping up sound files and labelling them with the annotation in the grid, this is a relatively painless way of extracting single words for talking dictionaries.
