I came across the Australian Dictionary of Biography online the other day. It’s possible to search by category – here’s the list for “Aboriginal culture informant“. It’s a nice recognition of some of the people who have put so much time and effort into sharing language and culture. Also, I can’t resist pointing out that five of the people listed account for a pretty large percentage of what we know about Karnic languages.
